REALTORS® are required to be responsive and minimize turnaround times for accessing and supplying information and sharing important documents with their clients. Successful REALTORS® employ technology to help them market their business and close deals quickly. As a resource that supports REALTORS® it is our duty to stay on top of technologies that will help our members move at the speed of change, ensuring they are able to provided the highest level of service to their clients.


Relationships with local, state and national political and governmental sources help keep the interests of association members and property owners supported and protected. Our members have been asked to serve in various capacities at every governmental level.


The association offers a wide variety of workshops to best equip you with the knowledge you need to best service your clients in the local marketplace. Workshops are offered both onsite and online and cover a wide range of topics from technology to psychology to the environment. We have you covered.


PKAR is focused on the future, both for our Members, and their clients which is why we are a proud member of the Ontario Collective. The Ontario Collective is a collaborative group of 13 real estate boards and associations across Ontario focused on delivering robust data, tools, and the best available technology to support over 5,000 REALTORS®. With better access to data, our combined efforts give our Members best-in-class tools so that their clients have the information they need to make well informed decisions on property ownership.

The association uses a variety of means to communicate with our members. PKAR is very active on social media, including Facebook and Twitter, with over 2000 followers. We send a monthly member newsletter and post more urgent notices on our Matrix alert system. We also provide a bi-monthly text service to our opt-in members with updates about the Association. Finally, our Member Concierge meets with many of our Borkerages on a quarterly basis to share the latest and greatest form the association and solicit feedback from members.


Ask any of our members what a community is and they'll tell you it's more than just businesses and buildings -- it's the people who live there. Whether we're sponsoring a local event, hosting a community education session, or fundraising for one of our local charities; as REALTORS®, we're proud of the role we play in strengthening our community in Peterborough and the Kawarthas.


Volunteer opportunities are another way to meet colleagues and see first hand how the industry is evolving. Our volunteers are active in our many committees and help to guide and define the direction of our organization.


PKAR is a strong believer in the power of relationship. We host several events throughout the year to provide you with opportunities to connect with others in the profession, folks that you will work with everyday in your business.

Dispute Resolution

PKAR prides itself on its ability to uphold professional standards of the highest integrity. REALTORS® differentiate themselves by abiding by a strict Code of Ethics that ensures the protection of their clients. The Professional Standards Committees review and address any complaints filed by members regarding violations of the Code of Ethics. Members also have access to arbitration services. By utilizing the arbitration services of the Association, members can quickly resolve transaction dispute with members in a fair and inexpensive manner.
