On June 23rd PKAR hit the streets of Peterborough on the Big Bike to raise money for The Heart & Stroke Foundation. It couldn’t have been a nicer day to ride! The weather was outstanding! The PKAR group was full of enthusiasm, and were eager to get out and on the road! With their noise makers shaking, as we crossed the Hunter St bridge and headed into downtown, the entire group made sure that those on the sidewalks, patios, and in their cars were made well aware of their presence! The cheers, claps, and honking of horns by those passing by only helped to energize the group even further than they already were! Some of the riders were feeling so excited about the event that they volunteered to ride with the team heading out prior to the PKAR team! We thank those who volunteered to ride twice!
Overall, the fundraising was a success! The PKAR riders were able to raise over $2000 as a team! A special shout out goes to the father-son combination of Jason Heffernan and Mike Heffernan who were able to raise over $900 between the two of them! Congratulations to the both of you! Absolutely outstanding!
